Auction terms

This document is the per-auction notice template. A version is recorded for each sale, and the version that applied to a sale governs every Lot in that sale, including any later claim. The page for a past auction always renders the version that applied to it.

Bid Boss weekly no-reserve liquidation auction. Bidding opens and Lots begin closing on the dates shown on the auction listing, closing from 7:00 PM Eastern, soft close. Pickup is by appointment only, booked after the auction, at Unit 4, 12 Vulcan Street, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1L2 (Thursday and Friday 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM). Government-issued photo ID and a signature are required before release. A person collecting for you must be authorized by you in writing in advance. Shipping available across Canada and to the continental United States, excluding Alaska, Hawaii and PO boxes, on Lots practical to ship.

Bidding notice

  1. Every bid is binding. A bid is an irrevocable offer, and the highest bid at close wins. There are no reserves: if a Lot has a bid, it sells.

  2. The total you pay is the hammer price plus a 15 percent buyer premium, plus a $1.50 handling fee per Lot ($10 for a pallet Lot), plus applicable tax. The all-in amount, or the exact fees composing it, is shown before you bid.

  3. Condition is disclosed before you bid. Every Lot carries a computed grade, photographs and a condition card. New / Overstock, Grade A and Grade B items carry a claim window for major functional defects of twenty-four (24) hours from pickup or confirmed delivery, seven (7) days for accounts verified as resellers, and fourteen (14) days only under a signed reseller addendum. Grade C and Grade D items are final sale as to condition. Regardless of grade, an item that is the wrong item or materially misdescribed is always reviewable. An item is also always reviewable if a critical accessory needed for it to function was missing and the listing did not disclose it.

  4. Payment. Payment is due in full within forty-eight (48) hours of auction close. For eligible customers, the card on file may be automatically charged after close unless another payment method was requested at registration. Accepted methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit, Interac e-Transfer, and cash at pickup.

  5. Pickup or shipping is chosen after you win. Pickup to shipping is free before the deadline; shipping to pickup is available until dispatch, free before packing begins, with a shipping-cancellation fee of the greater of $20 or 15 percent of the shipping charge once packing has begun. No partial pickup. All items must be picked up, or shipping requested, by Saturday at 3:00 PM following the auction. If an item is not collected and no shipping has been requested by then, we will notify you by email and text message, and you will have seven (7) more days to collect it or request shipping. A storage fee of $5.00 per lot per day applies from the Saturday deadline, and you authorize us to charge it to your card on file. An item still not collected or requested seven (7) days after that notice is deemed abandoned, and you authorize us to resell it on your behalf. Your original purchase is not cancelled or refunded. From the resale proceeds we deduct the storage fees, an abandonment fee equal to the greater of $25.00 or twenty-five percent (25%) of your original lot price, and the costs of resale; any remaining balance is held for you and paid on written request. Two abandoned purchases result in permanent suspension of bidding privileges. Contact us before the deadline.

  6. These terms sit within the Bid Boss buyer terms at /terms/buyer, which govern your purchase wherever your bid is placed and prevail over any conflicting term of the hosting platform. The buyer terms, the returns policy at /returns, the shipping policy at /shipping-policy and the prohibited items policy at /prohibited-items apply to every Lot. Placing a bid is your affirmative acceptance of this notice and of the buyer terms version in force, recorded with version and timestamp, and that recorded version governs this sale.
